What is SOulFully Textured?

SOulFully Textured is a highly anticipated, family friendly, annual event that celebrates the unique experiences of people of color who embrace their natural textured hair.  The event is centered in preserving African American culture, exploring hair identity and celebrating the authentic beauty of people of color and their right to show up as and embrace their authentic selves.  The event features educational and cultural discussions, lawn games, and a marketplace of curated vendors that support the needs of Festival attendees.

It's not, "just hair."  The goal of SOulFully Textured, A Natural Hair Festival is to eradicate the discrimination and stigma associated with afro-textured hair, to affirm and celebrate natural hair as a beauty standard, to create a safe space for the community to come together to learn about the rich history engrained in natural hairstyles and to support brands and businesses that address the needs of the community.

Building off of the success and popularity of our 2019 and 2021 SOulFully Textured, A Natural Hair Experience events in the Boston Seaport,  the launch SOulFully Textured, A Natural Hair Festival on the beautiful island of Martha's Vineyard in 2022, we are excited to return to Martha's Vineyard this summer.  The Festival venue is Waban Park, in the town of Oak Bluffs just a few feet away from the ferry port and the popular Inkwell Beach. With the Atlantic Ocean as as the backdrop, this beach side festival is not to be missed.
